Lefora is not accepting submissions in 2021.

Submission Guidelines:

Our next open reading period will be January through March 2022. To avoid viruses we do not want attachments. Please include a cover letter, publishing history, the intended audience for the work, and the first chapter or the first 3,000 to 5,000 words in the body of an email. In the subject line, please include the word submission followed by the genre, and your last name.

Please read our Mission Statement on the welcoming page before you submit your work, and understand that we are interested in representing writers, not simply a single piece of work.

Note: Lefora does not accept simultaneous submissions. When we select a work for publication, we would not want to learn at the eleventh hour that the author has offered it to another publisher whom the author has selected instead, especially since our initial acceptance may have meant a rejection of another author. On the other hand, since we are a small company, we will respond promptly to your query: your work will not languish with us, thus allowing you to seek other publishers should we decide no to accept it.

Finally, please note that a rejection is by no means a judgment of the worth of your submission, but merely a reflection of the fact that as a small publishing house, we are publishing only four to six titles each year. Among the three of us, we have collected enough rejection letters to paper a good-sized house, and so we take the process of reading very seriously. Know that we respect the process and the work you submit, and please do us the courtesy of sending only your best for us to read.
